Treating life like a banquet
And when you’re done enjoying the feast, be sure to treat others to a feast too.
Hello guys, it’s been a minute. I hope you had a great week. My week was filled with a lot of things I’m too tired to even mention. My thought process is not exactly clear because I am so sleepy, so I’ll try to be short and succinct.
Let’s get to it..
Stoicism.
I got pretty excited about stoicism immediately I found out that such a thing existed. I am huge on personal development, so it made so much sense to read about the philosophy of great minds and how they understood and navigated change, (self) leadership, adversity, growth etc etc .
So I picked up The Daily Stoic with the help of a friend (who sends me a page per day because, somehow, reading it daily by myself seems like an extreme sport lol). The book is written in a way that you get a page (read dose) of wisdom per day for 365 days, and here’s no doubt one of my fav so far, and ofc, what I have to say about it.
Treating life like a banquet. Meaning there’s plenty of food to be served, even more than enough to go round, but you have to wait your turn, ‘cause it bad manners not to.
It also teaches us to be grateful for being invited to the great feast in the first place (grateful for being alive), and that we should savour what’s already in front of us, instead of desperately reaching out to grab what’s in front of another (enjoy the moment), and when you’re done enjoying the feast, be sure to treat others to a feast too (when you finally realize what you want from life; wealth, a position etc, be sure to help other people realize the dream as well. Help them climb the ladder after getting to the top)
All in all, do not forget to enjoy your time at the feast. (Enjoy your life, basically).
I write about my learnings on personal growth, life, lessons, and experiences. Kindly subscribe and share if you find it relatable.
Have a great week,
Yosola.
I love this, Yosola.
I'd like to get a page of the Daily Stoic if you can help me with it.
